Xander Shah is an active soloist, chamber, and orchestra musician. He has been studying music, piano, and harp and fell in love with the sounds and mechanics of the harp at a very young age. He has studied harp through private lessons, master classes, as a student at the Orange County School of the Arts and the Interlochen Arts Center. Xander was selected as the Principal Harpist in the World Symphony Youth Orchestra at the InterIochen Arts Center and the Orange County School of the Arts Chamber Orchestra and Wind Ensemble.

Xander has performed for the Orange County Youth Music Foundation, San Diego Harpfest, Los Angeles Harp Recital, and the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Harp Society. He has earned first place awards at the Concordia University Music Competition and the Orange County Youth Music Foundation Competition.

Xander has also performed at many special events throughout Southern California as a soloist including anniversaries, birthdays, benefits, garden parties, holiday parties, and every month as a volunteer at a retirement home. He has been accompanied by his harpist older sister (they think of themselves as Von Trapp buddies), community harpists, and a 98-year-old harmonicist he met at the Retirement Center. He also enjoys arranging ensemble music.

Xander’s repertoire includes both classical and popular music.
